How Many Couples Actually Give Favors

Favors are sometimes called a dying tradition. The survey data says otherwise: roughly two out of three married couples end up giving them.

That $5-or-less majority lines up almost exactly with our own catalog, where the median favor runs $3.64. Couples are not skipping favors. They are choosing small, personal ones.

03

Total Favor Spend Benchmarks

The Knot tracks favors and gifts as a combined line item in its Real Weddings Study, which is the best published benchmark for the total budget line.

Note that The Knot's figure bundles wedding-party gifts with guest favors. Using our catalog math above, the favor-only share for a typical 100-guest wedding is closer to $364, which is consistent with the combined $460 once party gifts are added.
